BSA B31 Scrambler, for the road!
This 1954 B31 came form the deceased estate of a life time BSA collector / rider, you rarely see condition of this character, now fully sorted after re-commishiong, it comes fitted with new enduro, road legal tyres and fresh tubes, serviced and ready to ride.
Fitted with a later 1957 350cc B31 Engine the B31 was the same frame and forks used by BSA's Gold Star, I have yet to confirm with the VMCC wheather this frame left the plant with a Gold Star Engine originally fitted, but going by is provenance when found, it could well be the case, the haul consisted of some 13 bikes, 12 of the Goldies, and half a dozen Goldie engines, so my hunch is, the chap fitted the B31 Engine as a more useable Enduro ride going by the entry stamp on the front number plate.
I adore this bike, its just perfect in every way, and reminds me of my youth as a young lad, walking to and from school every day past ACE Motorcycles in West Norwood, South London where there would be lines of these on the road side, stopping me to ask the mechanics the inn's and outs of every one.
Just check out the original competition Gas Tank with it's Monza Quick Fill cap, Superb.
Road Tax and MOT exempt, running on fresh Castrolene, she smells, sounds and rides beautifully.
